Kids Safety Fair planned

Marthinsen & Salvitti Insurance Group and Washington Local 2218 Firefighters will hold the first Kids Safety Fair to teach children the dangers of fire from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 23 at the American Legion, 168 Park Ave., Washington.
Admission is free. There will be a smoke house simulator, a K-9 unit, firefighters and fire trucks, policemen and police cars, snacks, arts and crafts, games and prizes. The Washington Wild Things mascot also will attend from 11 a.m. to noon.
The event will be held rain or shine.
