NEW CASTLE, Pa. (AP) — Police in western Pennsylvania believe a man killed his stepfather before fatally shooting himself in front of his mother.

Police say 29-year-old Justin Burnett entered his stepfather’s bedroom and shot him four times after returning home Friday night in New Castle, Lawrence County.

Authorities say he then threatened to kill his mother before turning the gun on himself.

The stepfather is identified as 60-year-old Douglas Weingartner. Police say both men were pronounced dead at the family home.
