The NAACP Washington Unit will conduct a membership campaign beginning today and continuing through September.
The NAACP is the nation’s oldest and largest civil rights organization. For more than 100 years, it has been a leading advocate for social justice and equality for people of color in the United States.
Chartered in 1958, the goal of the NAACP Washington Unit is to increase membership so it can continue to ensure political, educational, social and economic equality for all citizens.
Second Vice President Phyllis Waller is the membership chairwoman, and co-chairwoman is Helen Dates. For more information, contact the NAACP office at 724-222-7820.
