The Pennsylvania Farmers Market Nutrition Program is providing four $5 senior vouchers that can be redeemed at designated area farmers markets through Nov. 30.
To be eligible for the senior FMNP vouchers, participants must be at least 60 years old by Dec. 31 and a resident of Fayette, Greene or Washington counties. An eligible individual’s gross income must be at or below $21,590. For a two-person household, income may be $29,101; for a three-person household, income is $36,612.
Eligible seniors can authorize a proxy to pick up the FMNP vouchers, as long as the benefits ultimately reach the eligible participant. However, proxy statements must be completed before picking up the vouchers. Seniors living in nursing or residential facilities, where meals are provided, are not eligible for the program.
