Field & Stream has set its sights on a Sept. 12 opening at the Old Mill.
Dick’s Sporting Goods made the announcement Thursday in a news release. The Findlay Township firm owns and operates the specialty retail stores, which targets anglers, hunters and other devotees of the outdoors. The first store opened about a year ago in Cranberry Township, the only other such store in Southwestern Pennsylvania.
Ribbon-cutting will be at 10 a.m. that day, with activities, giveaways and “special appearances” throughout the weekend, according to the release. They will include fishing and hunting tips at the store’s 4,000-gallon bass tank and archery trailer.
Hours for that weekend: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday; 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday; 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.

The 6 on the Tanger Outlets’ cake is more than a birthday celebration. It also marks a sixth store opening in 2014.
Michael Kors – the store, not the fashion designer – is scheduled to launch next July 31 in the South Strabane Township retail center. The Kors brand features clothing, handbags and accessories.
Jodi Dague, general manager of Tanger, which will turn 6 in August, calls Kors “our biggest customer request.”
It will join a Class of 2014 lineup already featuring Janie & Jack, Torrid, Yankee Candle, Express Outlet and H&M.
This also will be sixth Kors store in the state, but only the second in Southwestern Pennsylvania. The other is at Ross Park Mall.
