WAYNESBURG – At 6 a.m. today, McDonald’s of Waynesburg will throw open the doors of the completely rebuilt restaurant at 5 Sugar Run Road. Customers will enjoy a whole new dining experience in the contemporary “arcade” design now featured at McDonald’s restaurants across the country.

The new modernized restaurant features fresh and contemporary décor, a redesigned lobby with flat-screen TVs, digital menu boards, and the addition of a double-lane drive thru, which will ensure speedier service for customers on-the-go.

“We’re grateful for the strong support McDonald’s has received from this community since first opening in 1974,” said Deana Adams, the restaurant’s general manager. “That’s why we made sure the new building is even more comfortable and convenient for our customers.”

The new restaurant replaced one that was torn down when construction began last August.

On July 25, a ceremonial ribbon cutting with the American Legion and the Chamber of Commerce will take place at 9 a.m. On the following day, the restaurant is inviting the community to a full day of grand reopening festivities. The celebration will include face painting; an appearance and show by Ronald McDonald; a “Hide-and-Go-Sip” scavenger hunt with a chance to win free McCafe coffee for a year; free sampling of McCafe coffee and the new premium bacon clubhouse sandwiches; and raffle drawings for iPods, iPads, flat-screen TVs, Nintendo Wii and much more.

McDonald’s of Waynesburg will be offering the following specials July 26 only:

• Free small coffee with purchase of a large breakfast sandwich during breakfast hours

• BOGO Big Mac sandwiches during lunch and dinner (starting at 11 a.m.)

• $2.19 Happy Meals starting at 5 p.m.

Also in celebration of the grand reopening, McDonald’s of Waynesburg is offering incentives for customers to stop by the restaurant July 26. Starting at 7 a.m., the first 50 guests will win a free large sandwich each week for a year; starting at 2 p.m., the first 50 guests will receive free Egg McMuffin or Egg White Delite sandwich each week for a year; and at 5 p.m., the first 25 families will receive free Happy Meals each week for a year.
