The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation will hold a plans display for a bridge replacement project on Route 136 over Little Chartiers Creek on the border of North Strabane and South Strabane townships from 4 to 5 p.m. Aug. 21 at the North Strabane municipal building, 1929 Route 519.

The bridge will be replaced, the approach reconstructed and the guide rail and drainage updated. Brian Svesnik, PennDOT project manager, said the project is expected to be bid in July with construction beginning in spring 2016. Route 136 will be closed at the bridge and traffic will be detoured.

Svesnik said crews will try to accelerate the construction as much as possible. The detour may be for three to four months.
