Mobile Makeshop coming to Southpointe

The hands-on Mobile Makeshop for those 9 and older will be presented by the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh from 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 28 at the California University of Pennsylvania Center for Innovation, 135 Technology Drive, Canonsburg, in the Southpointe business complex.

Participants will:

• Learn about additive manufacturing and 3-D printing;

• Watch the university’s 3-D printer as it uses layers of melted plastic to build physical objects’

• Experiment with 3-D modeling software;

• Learn how to design digital files that the printer can translate into real-world items.
