WAYNESBURG – A Graysville man charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following a three-vehicle crash last year in Waynesburg was sentenced Thursday by Judge Farley Toothman to six months in the county intermediate punishment program.
Albert Leroy Rhome, 65, of 392 McNay Road, pleaded guilty to DUI and two summary traffic violations July 15.
On April 27, 2013, Rhome ran a red light on Greene Street at the intersection of Morgan Street. His vehicle hit a vehicle traveling south on Morgan Street and that vehicle then hit a vehicle traveling north on Morgan.
After the initial impact, Rhome’s vehicle struck the brick wall of the Moose Lodge and came to rest against a utility pole. Several people were injured in the crash.
Rhome had a blood-alcohol content of 0.082 percent.
Rhome was ordered to serve the first 15 days of the sentence on house arrest with GPS and alcohol monitoring and the remaining time on regular supervision. He also was fined $550, prohibited from possessing or using illegal drugs or alcohol and ordered to undergo random drug and alcohol testing.
