Army Pvt. Nicholas Brown has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. Brown is a 2012 graduate of Canon-McMillan High School, and his parents are Patricia and Robert Brown of Canonsburg.

Jordan T. Lyon, an Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps cadet at Penn State University, The Behrend College, Erie, has graduated from the Leader Development and Assessment Course at Fort Knox, Ky. Upon successful completion of the course, the ROTC program and graduation from college, cadets are commissioned as second lieutenants in the U.S. Army, Army National Guard or Army Reserve. Lyon is a 2011 graduate of Trinity High School, and his parents are Tom and Renee L. Lyon of Washington.

Air Force Airman Kayla M. Metott graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas. Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate degree in applied science through the Community College of the Air Force. Metott’s parents are Beverly K. Sterling-Affinati and Dennis C. Affinati of Canonsburg and Ricky H. and Heidi G. Metott of Sandy Creek, N.Y. She is a 2011 graduate of Sackets Harbor Central School, Sackets Harbor, N.Y.

Army Spc. Colleen Reynolds has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. Reynolds is a 2013 graduate of California University of Pennsylvania, and her father is Edward Sager of Lancaster.

Army Pvt. Ryan Woods has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. Woods is a 2011 graduate of Trinity High School, and his father is Fred Woods of Washington.
