WAYNESBURG – A Morgan Township woman was charged with retaliation against a witness and harassment after she allegedly sent a series of text messages between midnight and 2:55 a.m. Aug. 1 to her estranged husband’s cellphone.

According to a criminal complaint filed before Greene County Magisterial District Judge Glenn Bates, Lisa Eileen Basinger, 48, of 39 Reesman’s Mobile Home Park, Waynesburg, directed the messages at Samuel Basinger and his girlfriend, Krista Lynn Bedilion of Mather.

Basinger was previously arrested June 12 for entering Bedilion’s residence, calling Bedilion names, and allegedly threatening to “get her.”

Basinger was charged with criminal trespass, burglary occupied structure, harassment and disorderly conduct for this incident.

Bedilion told state police she previously told Basinger she was not allowed on her property and confirmed she is in a relationship with Samuel Basinger.

According to the June 12 complaint, Bedilion’s daughter heard the kitchen door open and soon the two women confronted each other.

Bedilion allegedly grabbed Basinger by the throat and threw her out of the house.

When Basinger was interviewed at the state police barracks, she said she went to Bedilion’s residence to get a pickup truck belonging to her husband.

She said she told Bedilion she wanted the truck and Bedilion slammed the door on her.

Basinger faces a formal arraignment for the June 12 charges at 9 a.m. Aug. 18 in the Greene County Court of Common Pleas. She is currently free on $10,000 bond.

A preliminary hearing has yet to be scheduled for the Aug. 1 charges.
