BEAVER (AP) – Authorities say a Western Pennsylvania man has been charged with homicide in the death of his girlfriend.

Fifty-eight-year-old James Turner of Aliquippa is charged with criminal homicide in Beaver County in the death of 53-year-old Patricia Thompson.

Police said the victim’s daughter discovered her body in her home on Saturday.

Aliquippa police chief Don Couch said investigators believe that Thompson died sometime between Thursday and Friday afternoon.

Authorities haven’t said how they believe she died but said an autopsy is scheduled.

Couch said Turner left in Thompson’s car after the slaying, and the car was found abandoned and out of gas Friday morning in Sewickley.

Turner is being held pending a preliminary hearing scheduled for Aug. 26; court documents don’t list an attorney for him.
