Woodland Hills stymies PT’s offense

McMURRAY – Peters Township played visiting Woodland Hills, one of the top teams in Class AAAA, to a stalemate in the second half but the Indians couldn’t overcome a 20-point second quarter by the Wolverines.

Miles Sanders rushed for two scores and Woodland Hills returned an interception for a score as the Wolverines won 27-0 in a Southeastern Conference game.

Sanders scored on runs of 20 and 30 yards around an 80-yard interception return for a touchdown by Arthur Tomkins as Woodland Hills forged a 20-0 lead midway through the second quarter. Tomkins closed the scoring with a 47-yard TD run with only 1:03 left in the first half.

Woodland Hills’ defense held PT to 82 total yards. The Indians completed five of nine passes but were intercepted twice. Woodland Hills had 232 yards total offense.
