LATROBE, Pa. (AP) – Refiled murder and homicide charges show a county jail inmate claims the suspect confessed to bludgeoning his live-in girlfriend with a hammer and one-gallon wine bottle after she threw a TV dinner in his face.

The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review was reporting the new details in the new criminal complaint against 57-year-old Gregory Randall, of Laurel Mountain.

A district judge dismissed the first complaint against Randall after saying Randall’s bloody handprint at the crime scene didn’t prove that he killed 52-year-old Angela Cavalero in May.

Randall faces another preliminary hearing Aug. 22 on the new complaint.

In it, Westmoreland County detectives say Randall – who has said he doesn’t remember the incident – “bragged about how pretty the blood spatter looked all over the wall.”

Randall’s attorney says Randall’s fellow inmate has credibility issues.
