In response to Raymond Bish’s Wednesday letter about the current state of the grounds in the Fort Cherry School District, I am wondering if he has ventured up onto school property much, if at all, this summer.

Contractors have been up there all summer long, doing extensive work inside both schools. Last week, they were giving doorways at the elementary school a fresh coat of paint, in addition to laying new flooring throughout the school. They’ve also poured new concrete in front.

I’ve been up there several times in the past month alone, and they’ve always been working diligently to ensure that the buildings will be ready for students. They still have several weeks to mow. Give them a break.
