A state trooper called Carroll Township police Friday to report a man for stealing some of his belongings after he said he witnessed the crime.

The trooper, Nathan Peters of Carroll, told police he also followed Timothy C. Zetka to Donora about 8:45 a.m. after noticing him removing three no trespassing signs Peters placed at Dredge Dock along Route 837, court records state.

Once in Donora, Peters said he waved Zetka, 66, of Dunlevy, to a stop on Modisette Avenue and warned him he would be arrested for the theft. Zetka quickly drove off, but not before Peters said he also saw the man in possession of his tree stand, the affidavit indicates.

Zetka, of 19 Church St., was arraigned Tuesday on charges of theft, receiving stolen property and trespassing. He is free on $5,000 bond set by District Judge Mark Wilson.
