Pair taken into custody during drug raid in city
A Washington woman and a Pittsburgh man were arrested Wednesday night in a drug raid at her residence that netted 15 grams of suspected crack, a loaded AR-15 magazine and $2,563.
Washington County District Attorney Eugene Vittone said the state police Troop B vice unit took into custody India McCullough, 23, who was known to have lived at 1175 Maple Terrace.
The other suspect, Michael Stuart, 26, was taken to Allegheny County jail as he was wanted in that county on three arrest warrants, Vittone said.
The search was carried out with the cooperation of Vittone’s drug task force.
Also seized in the raid was a small amount of marijuana, a stamp bag of heroin, a chunk of an unknown substance, five cellphones, many ink stampers used to label heroin stamp bags and other items consistent with drug dealing, court records show.
“This operation is a perfect example of the cooperative efforts put forth by the Washington City police, the Washington County Drug Task Force and all other agencies involved with this and similar types of investigations,” Vittone said.
“It also shows the quick and vital observation of the citizens of our communities in their efforts to keep our law enforcement officials informed of this type of activity.”
McCullough is charged by state police with drug possession with intent to deliver, drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia. She is in Washington County jail on $25,000 bond set by District Judge David Mark.
Stuart also was arrested on drug charges Nov. 8 by state police in connection with a traffic stop in October 2013 on Interstate 79 in South Strabane Township.
Police said a search of his vehicle produced heroin, Ecstasy and marijuana.
He was released from Washington County jail the following day after posting his $20,000 bond set by District Judge Jay Weller
Vittone reminded the public to call the county’s crime hot line at 1-800-281-0070 to report suspicious activity.
