Hidden Treasures getting new home
Washington’s Hidden Treasures isn’t going into hiding. It is merely switching locales.
The city store, operated by Washington City Mission, will shutter its 770 Jefferson Ave. site following business today. It eventually will reopen in the former Three Rivers Auction building, at the intersection of Washington and West Beau streets, near Goodwill.
“It is closer to our campus on West Wheeling Street,” Maria Stockman, event and marketing manager, said in an email. “We’ll occupy a much larger space which will result in a bigger showroom and more choices. We’ll also have better parking for our customers and an easier dropoff site for donations.”
She said the grand opening is planned for Feb. 2.
City Mission provides support to the homeless, poor and needy. Its Hidden Treasures stores are an integral part of that equation, where gently used furniture, clothing and household items can be purchased.
There are five Hidden Treasures locations: Washington, Canonsburg, Monongahela, Waynesburg and Rostraver Township.
