Assault alleged: Police were called to an apartment at Vulcan Village at 12:48 a.m. Friday for a report that a man assaulted his girlfriend and her roommate. Kolbi S. Baer, 21, of 337 E. Garfield St., Shippensburg, was charged with simple assault and harassment after Michael Kayt Monahan of 206 S. Queen St., Shippensburg, said he repeatedly punched her in the back and face. Baer also allegedly threw Monahan out the apartment door. She landed on her knees and suffered a large abrasion to her left knee and seven welts to her back, police said. EMS was dispatched to the scene, but Monahan declined to go to the hospital.
Assault, harassment charges: Cheryl Lee Jackson, 54, of 57 Griffith Ave., Canton, was charged Thursday by state police with simple assault and harassment stemming from a Nov. 29 incident at the Polish Club, 64 Griffith. She is accused of punching Diane Efaw with keys in her hand and yelling profanities at Efaw. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.
Driver faces charges: Joshua Aaron Columbia, 27, of Brownsville, faces charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and careless driving after he allegedly drove his vehicle off High Point Drive, Coal Center, and crashed in the early morning hours of Nov. 29. California police said he was taken to Monongahela Valley Hospital for a blood test to determine his level of intoxication.
Jailed in assault: Jordan Daniel Johnson, 24, of 627 Chestnut St., Donora, is charged by borough police with simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct, accused of shoving and striking a woman at his residence about 1:30 p.m. Nov. 28, court records state. He is in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond set Thursday by District Judge Mark Wilson.
Woman assaulted: Johnathan M. Scheffris, 22, of West Newton, is charged by borough police with simple assault, harassment, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness, court records state. Police accuse him of punching a pregnant woman in the face at 500 McKean Ave. about 10:30 p.m. Nov. 23. He is free on $5,000 bond set Thursday by District Judge Mark Wilson.
Man assaulted: Kenny Finney, 35, of Washington, told city police he was punched in the face by a man in the 10 block of Montgomery Avenue and had cigarettes in his pocket stolen shortly after 3 a.m. Friday.
Apartment burglarized: An apartment unit at 1054 Jefferson Avenue in Washington was burglarized about 8 a.m. Thursday, and the bedroom was ransacked, city police said, but nothing was stolen.
