I was shocked, appalled and sickened when I read a deer had been shot and killed in Washington Cemetery.

The deer at the cemetery are like pets. Most will come to your vehicle and eat out of your hand. Most are tame, as are the ducks and geese. I have never seen a deer eat the plants or flowers at the cemetery. Why should they? People take up corn, bread, birdseed and sunflower seeds to feed these animals.

I say, keep Washington Cemetery and its beautiful wildlife safe, sacred and protected.
