Hit-and-run crash: Bernard Price of 615 Highland Ave. told Canonsburg police Thursday night his parked pickup truck was hit and damaged by a sport utility vehicle that then fled. Police found a fog light and other debris near the intersection of Highland and Second Street. They said the vehicle that hit Price’s truck is believed to be a blue SUV.
Marker stolen: Elaine M. Pattison of 445 Brad Ave., Canton, told state police Wednesday her engraved stone house marker was stolen from outside her residence. Anyone with information is asked to call state police at 724-223-5200.
DUI alleged in crash: James Yeager Jr., 38, of 441 Ewing St., Meadow Lands, will be charged by Chartiers police with driving under the influence of alcohol after he allegedly drove into the yard at 620 W. Pike St. and hit several trees about 11 p.m. Thursday.
Scam reported: An Independence man told McDonald police Tuesday he received calls from people claiming to represent Microsoft who are telling him that he has a problem with his computer and he needs to download software so they can fix the issue. When he told them he thought it was a scam, they started swearing at him. Most of the callers have a foreign accent, and they call between 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. The numbers have 266 and 210 area codes.
Vehicle crashes: Charles A. Miele Jr., 60, of 103 Hickory Circle, Canonsburg, escaped injury when his vehicle crashed on McDowell Lane about 8 p.m. Thursday, North Strabane police said. He was driving south in the 400 block when his vehicle went off the road, hit a guardrail, crossed the road and struck a brick and wood wall, as well as a mailbox. Canonsburg police blocked traffic on McClelland at McDowell. North Strabane firefighters also assisted. Police said Miele will be cited with failure to drive at a safe speed.
Car stolen: Jamie Goodwin of 1228 Beech St. told South Strabane police Friday morning her green 2011 Ford Edge was stolen from outside her home. She last saw it about 9:30 p.m. Thursday. She told police she keeps an extra set of keys in the car so she can warm it up in the morning. The license is HWP-0958.
Debit card stolen: Marlene Duvall of Avella told South Strabane police Thursday her debit card and two checks were stolen from her purse while she was working at Clark’s, Tanger Outlets, Saturday.
Drug arrests: Zachary W. Eidens, 23, Cortney Orgovan, 23, and Clyde W. Conklin, 34, all of Washington, are charged by city police with drug possession stemming from a traffic stop about 11 a.m. Friday in the 600 block of Broad Street, court records show. Police said two stamp bags of heroin and four empty stamp bags were found in the vehicle driven by Orgovan. The three are in Washington County jail, each on $5,000 bond set by District Judge Robert Redlinger.
