Michael McAndrew on Monday took over as chief executive officer of Black Box Corp., headquartered in the Lawrence section of Cecil Township.
McAndrew, also the company president, succeeds R. Terry Blakemore, who retired as CEO effective Sunday, the company said in a press release.
McAndrew also has joined the company’s board of directors for a term that will end at the next annual meeting of stockholders. He probably will stand for election to the board at that time.
The new CEO was named president and chief operating officer in October. McAndrew also has been executive vice president (2010 to 2012); secretary and treasurer; vice president and chief financial officer; and manager of corporate planning and analysis. He has been with Black Box since 1989.
Black Box provides products for various communications and infrastructure solutions ranging from messaging, mobility and network security to CATV and video and data centers.
The company has 175,000 clients and more than 4,500 employees. It has 194 offices in 141 countries.
