CANONSBURG – Horizon Properties said Tuesday it has broken ground for an 84-room Hampton Inn off the Bridgeville exit of Interstate 79. The hotel, which will be built at 300 Old Pond Road on the west side of the interstate, will be owned by Bridgeville Hotel Associates and managed by Southpointe-based Horizon Hospitality.

The hotel will be five stories and will include several suites in addition to the regular double queen and king mix.

The completion date is expected in December.

The hotel will include free high-speed Internet access, a business center, fitness center, indoor swimming pool and a large meeting room with audio-visual equipment.
