Fiscal year slots revenue declines

Gross revenue from slots machine play declined statewide and at The Meadows Racetrack & Casino for the fiscal year that ended Sunday.
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board said on its website Tuesday that revenue at the state’s 11 casinos from July 1, 2012, through June 30 was $2.429 billion, down 1.94 percent from $2.477 billion during the 2011-12 fiscal year.
The Meadows, in North Strabane Township, experienced a 4.21 percent drop in revenue. Its 2012-13 total of $240,805,246 fell from $251,394,163 the previous fiscal year.
Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem was the only casino to show a gain – 1.66 percent. Rivers Casino, on the North Side of Pittsburgh, nearly broke even, dropping 0.03 percent.
The gaming board also posted slots revenue figures for June. Collective revenue at the casinos declined 2.96 percent from June 2012, to $199,035,276.
The Meadows experienced a 1.48 percent dropoff year over year, from $20,490,083.96 to $20,185,979.04. The Rivers Casino declined 2.83 percent (from $23,618,170.81 to $22,948,919.46).
