Two local doctors appointed as directors of organization
John Six, M.D., and Matthew StantsPainter, D.O., have been appointed medical directors of the Washington Physician Hospital Organization, a partnership of Washington Health System and 250-plus physicians.
They succeed Jay Ziegler, M.D., who was medical director for almost 19 years. Co-directors were named because of an increase in duties related to the position.
Six did his family medicine residency at Washington Hospital and has been in private practice at Claysville Family Practice for the past seven years. He also is the medical director at Greenbriar Treatment Center and has had leadership positions with the Washington County Medical Society.
StantsPainter did his family medicine residency at Western Pennsylvania Hospital in Pittsburgh. He was on West Penn’s residency faculty for two years before joining Washington’s family medicine residency in 2008. StantsPainter was the osteopathic program director until 2010, when he became associate program director.
