Huntington Bancshares said Wednesday it rose to the No. 1 rank in dollars lent in the Pittsburgh area through the U.S. Small Business Administration 2013 fiscal year – nearly reaching the bank’s record 2011 fiscal year performance .
At $24.9 million in SBA lending within the SBA Pittsburgh District from Oct. 1, 2012 to Sept. 30, 2013, Huntington nearly bested its 2011 local SBA lending total of $25.1 million.
Huntington also said it increased total local SBA loans from 128 to 150 year-over-year, and increased total lending by $3.8 million year-over-year within the district.
The bank’s move up to No. 1 for both total SBA loans and dollar volume in Pittsburgh was accompanied by upward movement to joint No. 1 rankings in West Virginia and Indiana, so that Huntington now ranks No. 1 for total SBA lending performance across its core states of Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Indiana and Michigan. The bank said it has long ranked No. 1 for total SBA lending performance within its overall footprint, but not in all of the five states.
Huntington continues to rank nationally as the No. 3 and No. 5 SBA lender in total loans and total dollar volume, respectively, and increased both total loans and dollars lent year-over-year institution wide, to 3,062 total loans and $465.4 million lent.
