July slots revenue down slightly

HARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board said Monday that July gross revenue from slot machine play at the state’s 12 casinos was $201,416,899, generating $107,535,711 in tax revenue.

The PGCB said the amount was 1.7 percent lower than revenue generated from slot machines in July 2013, when revenue was $204,909,480. The average number of operating slot machines throughout Pennsylvania at the 12 casinos was 26,400 in July compared to 26,593 in July 2013.

The Meadows Casino’s slot machines produced gross revenue of $19,203,492 last month, down 1.28 percent from the $19,452,828 it received in slots play in July 2013.

The Meadows’ neighbor to the north, Pittsburgh’s Rivers Casino, received $24,261,167, up 1.23 percent from the $23,966,457 produced by its slots in July of a year ago.

The other area casino, Lady Luck Casino Nemacolin, saw a 12 percent gain in its July slots revenue, moving to $2,548,388 last month from $2,357,083 for July of a year ago, which was the first month of its operations.
