Bowser Cadillac plans to ease on down the road in 2015.

The family-owned mega-dealership will switch sites along Route 19 in Washington County. It will relocate about three miles north, from North Strabane Township, near Galley Road, to Peters Township, near Valley Brook Road.

“We hope to be open in September,” said Ed McGrath, director of operations for Power of Bowser, the umbrella name for the company, which also has locations in Pleasant Hills and Chippewa Township, Beaver County.

This new one will be on three acres where a Sears service center once stood. McGrath said Bowser purchased the property about two years ago “with the intent to build there.” Land was cleared and construction is under way.

Purchase is the operative word here. McGrath said the primary reason for this move is Bowser, instead of leasing as it currently does, will own the land upon which it transacts business. He said that lease will expire in September or October, but “our goal is to be out” before then.

Footers are up for the building, which will not be a caddy shack. The facility will have 24,000 square feet featuring a showroom, offices, service and parts departments and a detail shop.

“This will be a bigger space and much more modern,” McGrath said. “It is a really good spot, at a traffic light with access north and south. It’s a nice flat property, a great place to be.”

He said the company also bought an adjacent 6.3-acre lot, but wasn’t certain how it would be used. Inventory is a possible use.

Power of Bowser sells new and used cars made by GMC, Nissan, Cadillac, Hyundai, Buick and Subaru. In nine months, it hopes to be moving them from a new venue.
