Washington Ford broke ground on a construction project to upgrade its showroom.

The dealership, which borders Route 19 and Manifold Road in South Strabane Township, said the project will add a new two-story showroom, sales, administrative and management offices, service advisors and a lounge area.

Charleroi-based General Industries is the contractor.

According to a news release from General Industries, Larry Wind, president of Washington Ford, said the new construction will provide a more efficient and brighter atmosphere.

In 2013, General Industries developed a 2.5-acre site and built a 6,000-square-foot vehicle prep center for the dealership across Route 19.
