Meadows Nov. slots revenue jumps by nearly 11 percent
The Meadows Casino led the state’s 12 casinos in percentage gain from slot machine revenue in November, according to a report released Thursday by Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.
For November, the North Strabane Township gaming venue had gross revenue from slots last month totaling $18,046,798, up 10.87 percent from the $16,277,963 it collected in November 2014.
The Meadows said in a news release Thursday the November results continue a four-month trend of growth. It said it paid out $10,197,725 in slot jackpots during November while its slot revenues increased by nearly 11 percent.
The Meadows said it paid out nearly $10 million more to date from last year and surpasses previous year totals, even with a month remaining.
According to the PGCB, the second-biggest percentage gainer in November was Erie’s Presque Isle Downs and Casino, which ended the month with $9,027,902, up 10.19 percent from the $8,192,914 in gross slots revenue collected in November of a year ago.
The Meadows’ neighbor to the north, Pittsburgh’s Rivers Casino saw its slots revenue decline slightly, ending November at $21,856,039, down 0.71 percent from $22,013,080 a year ago.
Lady Luck Casino Nemacolin in Farmington saw slots revenue slide by 5.44 percent, from $2,503,044 in November 2014 to $2,366,776 last month.
According to the PGCB report, gross revenue from slot machines at the 12 casinos was up 2.23 percent in November to $187,540,869, compared to the $183,441,906 generated in November 2014.
Tax revenue in November was $100,209,876.
The average number of slot machines operating on a daily basis throughout Pennsylvania was 26,299 in November, compared to 26,376 in November of last year.
