Despicable weather played havoc with slot machine play at about half of the state’s casinos in February, including The Meadows.

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board listed figures on its website Tuesday, showing that revenue for the 12 casinos was up 1.12 percent from February 2014. But it declined at five of the sites.

The Meadows Casino was among them. The North Strabane Township facility experienced a 5.5 percent dropoff from $17,016,314.41 in February 2014 to $16,080,969.50 last month.

Rivers Casino, on Pittsburgh’s North Side, also experienced a dip. Revenue fell 3.0 percent year over year, from $23,160,975.13 to $22,465,125.27. Those declines, however, were dwarfed by the 11.72 percent hit absorbed at Presque Isle Downs and Casino (from $9,227,458.33 to $8,146,391.37.

Mohegan Sun Pocono (-7.51) and Harrah’s Philadelphia Casino and Racetrack (-0.28) were the other facilities on the negative side.

Lady Luck Casino Nemacolin, in Fayette County, realized the largest year over year gain at 21.86 percent, from $1,671,414.59 to $2,036,722.08.

The casinos collectively generated $183,203,043.09 in revenue last month, an increase from $181,178,729.50. That was despite a drop in the average number of operating slot machines, from 26,620 in February 2014 to 26,351.
