The Sunoco APlus fueling station and convenience store at Pittsburgh International Airport will close for remodeling for six weeks, beginning April 6.

Sunoco officials, who announced the temporary closure Friday, said when the outlet reopens May 20, the fueling station will include new gasoline dispensers, additional diesel fueling positions, compressed natural gas fueling (CNG), liquid propane fueling and electric vehicle charging stations.

The remodeleded APlus store will have expanded offerings including a fresh deli, grill, café and more.

Sunoco said the changes represent the company’s ongoing partnership and commitment, along with leaders of the Allegheny County Airport Authority, to provide additional options for customers and to advance a healthier environment. This will be Sunoco’s second CNG station and first propane station in Pennsylvania.

During the closure, patrons renting vehicles at the airport will need to visit nearby gas stations on University Boulevard and Steubenville Pike to refuel before returning vehicles to the airport. Patrons may also purchase gas from rental car agencies in advance at market price.

“We appreciate travelers’ patience during this closure as we are partnering with Sunoco to offer an upgraded experience and additional convenience options at Pittsburgh International,” said Airport Authority CEO Christina Cassotis.
