Pa. April slots revenue up 4.1 pct.

HARRISBURG — The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board said Monday that slot machine revenue produced at the 12 casinos during April increased 4.1 percent compared to the same month last year.

According to the monthly report posted on the PGCB’s web site, www.gamingcontrolboard.pa.gov, April’s gross revenue from the play of slot machines statewide was $205,894,827 compared to $197,760,977 gross revenue in April 2014.

The board also reported that the amount of tax revenue generated for the Commonwealth from slot machine play during April was $109,858,099.

Of the three casinos in Southwestern Pennsylvania, The Meadows Casino in North Strabane Township was the only one to see a slight reduction in its April gross revenue falling 0.91 percent to $18,365,715 from $18,533,750 received in April 2014.

Pittsburgh’s Rivers Casino saw its gross slots revenue rise 2.61 percent to $23,756,231, while Lady Luck Casino Nemacolin in Farmington jumped 21.32 percent to $2,552,197.

The average number of operating slot machines throughout Pennsylvania was 26,265 in April 2015 compared to 26,527 at the casinos in April 2014.
