Desk and Derrick Club to sponsor regional energy conference
PITTSBURGH – Three Rivers Desk and Derrick Club, a 60-year-old service association for the oil and gas industry employees, will host a regional meeting and educational conference May 12 to 15 at the Sheraton Station Square hotel, Pittsburgh.
The local club is part of an international organization whose 2,500 members are employed in or affiliated with the petroleum, energy and allied industries, with 51 clubs within seven regions throughout the United States and Canada.
The Region I event in Pittsburgh will offer a variety of educational and networking opportunities including a personal development class entitled “Take Control of Your Financial Future,” an icebreaker social with a view of Pittsburgh serving as a backdrop; a “Taste of Pittsburgh” dinner featuring Pittsburgh cuisine, guest speakers discussing hot industry topics; a carnival with appropriate food and games; and a certification class, which this year will concentrate on drilling for oil and natural gas.
A field trip is also scheduled featuring well sites, historic and operational, as well as gas processing facilities.
Many of the events are open to nonmembers as well, and sponsorship opportunities are available for those seeking exposure to the energy industry community.
