WHS forms cardiac partnership with UPMC
Washington Health System has a new cardiac surgery services partner. Four doctors from UPMC’s Heart and Vascular Institute will join WHS heart surgeons and nurse practitioners to expand cardiac care in Washington and Greene counties.
The agreement between the two health systems means WHS dropped Three Rivers Cardiac Institute as a partner.
The cardiothoracic surgeons from UPMC will tend to patients in an office at 125 N. Franklin Drive, Suite 1-A, North Franklin Township.
“This partnership … markedly expands the capabilities at WHS,” said Thomas Gleason, chief of the UPMC’s cardiac surgery division.
He will be one of the UPMC surgeons working with WHS. The others are Christopher Cook, Claudio Lima and Forozan Navid.
