Total casino revenue up 3.6 percent for fiscal year
Pennsylvania’s 12 casinos generated more than $3.2 billion in gross revenue for the fiscal year that ended June 30, a 3.6 percent increase from the 2014-15 period.
Combined revenue for slot machine and table games play totaled $3,227,835,876, according to figures released Monday by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board. Slots raised $2,388,658,549, while table games $839,177,086.
The combined 2015-16 figure exceeds the $3,115,525,984 raised the previous fiscal year. It also is the highest total of the six full fiscal years in which table games have operated.
The board also posted table game revenues for June 2016. Among the 12 casinos, The Meadows in North Strabane Township experienced the biggest percentage drop from June 2015 – 13.55 percent. Last month’s total was $2,211,263, down from $2,557,775. Revenue at Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh dipped 2.53 percent over the year (from $5,524,073 to $5,384,393), while Lady Luck Casino Nemacolin in Fayette County, experienced a 22.45 percent jump (from $461,854 to $565,532).
Casinos statewide realized a 2.15 percent increase (from $68,446,415 to $67,007,380).
The Meadows had a good fiscal year at the tables, generating a 9.22 percent increase from 2014-15. It raised $32,050,048 for the period ending June 30, up from $29,345,205. Rivers had a slight 0.37 percent increase ($70,695,507 from $70,433,182); Lady Luck fell 4.75 percent (from $5,403,506 to $5,147,026).
Table revenue was up 7.62 percent across the state during the fiscal year, jumping from $779,738,065 to $839,177,086.
