Re-entry conference, job fair planned
Washington County Commissioner Diana Irey Vaughan and President Judge Katherine Emery will host the Washington County Re-entry Conference and Community Resource Job Fair from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Julian’s Banquet Hall, 78 W. Maiden St.
The conference will focus on people convicted of crimes who are re-entering the workforce. Topics will include participants’ rap sheets and expungement; employment and training opportunities; housing and legal services, onsite applications with employers; and community resources and programs.
Keynote speaker is Dean Williams, executive director of Formerly Convicted Citizens Project. The event will also feature comments from Bobby Steele of T3 Oilfield Services; and Nick Borgfeldt of WCCF Ministries.
Other topics will include advice on reinstating health care insurance; Social Security benefits; and procedures for restoring a driver’s license,

Sign-in on the day of the event is 8:30 a.m. A breakfast will be provided for participants.
