84 Lumber 5th largest in U.S. on list of dealers
Eighty Four-based 84 Lumber is the fifth-largest professional building product dealer in the United States, according to a survey by ProSales Magazine, a multi-media trade organization that compiles a top 100 list.
The company, owned by Maggie Hardy Magerko, had $2.504 billion in sales in 2015, nearly an 8 percent increase from the previous year. It ranked third among similar competitors with manufacturing capabilities.
This was the 24th time in 25 years 84 Lumber made the top five in ProSales’ list. The survey began in 1991.
Founded by Joe Hardy in 1956, 84 Lumber has more than 250 stores in the U.S., 37 of them in Pennsylvania.
