Slots revenue falls at Meadows
HARRISBURG – Gross revenue generated from slots play at Pennsylvania’s 12 casinos in October declined 3 percent over the year, the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board reported Wednesday.
The Meadows Casino experienced a more precipitous drop of 6.86 percent.
Statewide revenue last month totaled $191,850,596.41, compared with $197,874,758.57 in October 2015. Tax revenue last month was $102,279,501.
One month after eight casinos reported year-over-year increases, eight of them had decreases. The Meadows, in North Strabane Township, had $18,023,978.85 in revenue last month, down from $19,352,173.78 in October 2015.
The region’s two other gaming sites also posted decreases. Rivers Casino, on Pittsburgh’s North Side, fell 5.05 percent, from $22,782,028.04 in October 2015 to $21,632,607.36 last month.
Lady Luck Casino Nemacolin, in Fayette County, had the largest drop among Pennsylvania’s 12 casinos – 11.34 percent (from $2,596,765.19 to $2,302,235.50).
The average number of slot machines operating throughout the commonwealth was 26,632 in October, compared with 26,229 a year earlier.
