Table games revenue up statewide, down in the region

HARRISBURG — Gross revenue from gambling at table games in Pennsylvania casinos during October was 5.35 percent higher than last year, according to figures released Thursday by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.

According to a report posted on the PGCB web site, October’s gross table games revenue generated $71,161,384 or $3,614,721 more than in October 2015 when revenue totaled $67,546,663.

Total tax revenue from table games play during October was $11,500,719 with an average of 1,218 tables in operation statewide on a daily basis. Table games revenue is taxed at a rate of 16 percent.

Despite the increase in revenue statewide, casinos in Southwestern Pennsylvania saw a decline in gross table games revenue.

At The Meadows Casino in North Strabane Township, rose 39.59 percent, moving from $2,169,688 in October 2015 to $3,028,774 last month.

The Meadows’ total revenue for October, including table games and slots was down 2.18 percent from October 2015.

At Pittsburgh’s Rivers Casino, revenue fell 1.81 percent, from $28,460,306 a year ago to $27,945,094 last month.

Lady Luck Casino Nemacolin in Farmington was down 10.93 percent, moving from $3,050,323 to $2,716,839 in the October year-to-year period.
