Dunkin’ Donuts scheduled to open Sept. 26 in Peters
Dunkin’ Donuts will open Sept. 26 in Peters Township, and it promises to be palate and ecologically friendly.
Ribbon-cutting will commence at 5 a.m. that day, just as the shop opens at 3528 Washington Road (Route 19). It is on the site of an Eat’n Park restaurant that was razed this spring, about a quarter-mile south of a new Eat’n Park that launched in early March.
“We’re looking forward to a big opening,” said Anthony Braun, chief operating officer for Heartland Restaurant Group, the Strip District-based franchisee for Dunkin’ in Southwestern Pennsylvania.
Braun said this will be the first certified “green” Dunkin’ restaurant in the region.
And, speaking of milestones, this will be the 40th Dunkin’ that Heartland has developed in Southwestern Pennsylvania since starting in 2008.
He declined to identify the manager, but said it is an experienced Dunkin’ supervisor.
This will be the second Dunkin’ Donuts to launch in 16 months in Washington County, where the brand didn’t exist for many years. The first opened in May 2015 on Cavasina Drive, Canonsburg.
Hours at the Peters location will be 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. in the dining room, 5 a.m. to midnight at the drive-up window.
Work continues on two other Dunkin’ restaurants in the county: off Racetrack Road near Primanti’s in North Strabane Township, and at Murtland Avenue (Route 19) and Raymond Boulevard in South Strabane Township, near the Washington city line.
Braun said it is difficult to determine which may open first, but both are targeted to be in operation in November or December – before the holiday rush in two retail-heavy areas.
