Washington Hospital’s Continuing Medical Education program recently received the highest level of accreditation from the Pennsylvania Medical Society for providing educational programming of top-level quality under the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education standards.
The CME Program earned six-year accreditation with commendation – the highest honor – for complying with all of the 22 required criteria. Accreditation with commendation demonstrates to the medical community and the public that the program provides physicians with the foremost level of quality in its educational offerings, stressing relevance and effectiveness in impacting performance and quality of patient care.
Alexas Family Dentistry, a general dental practice, offering a multitude of services has been opened at 2301 Jefferson Ave., Suite 3. by Dr. Noel R. Alexas. She earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from West Virginia University. Originally from Claysville, Alexas spent the last several years working in a private practice in Berkley Springs, W.Va.

Bowles Rice has named Southpointe attorneys Britt Freund and Jennifer B. Hagedorn as new equity partners in the firm, effective Jan. 1. Attorney W. Taylor Frankovitch has also been named as a non-equity partner.
Freund concentrates his practice in mineral and energy law, and serves as a trustee-at-large of the Energy and Mineral Law Foundation. He represents coal and oil and gas producers, financial institutions and mineral owners with regard to all aspects of real property development, mineral production and sales and finance transactions. He has been recognized by Pennsylvania Super Lawyers as a Rising Star.
Hagedorn focuses her practice in employment law, as well as health care, energy and real estate law. She counsels clients on employment matters, contracts, leases and personnel decisions as well as asset and real estate sales and other related matters. She serves as general counsel to several small businesses.
Frankovitch works in the areas of energy, commercial law, real estate and litigation. He holds degrees from Washington and Jefferson College and the University of Pittsburgh. He earned his Master of Laws degree from the Duke University School of Law.
Monongahela Valley Hospital has welcomed the return of Allan H. Tissenbaum, M.D., orthopedic surgeon, to the orthopedic group.
Tissenbaum earned a bachelor’s degree in physiology from McGill University in Montreal and a master’s degree in exercise physiology from York University in Ontario. He completed his medical degree at McGill University, where he also completed his orthopedic residency.
He is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery in orthopedic sports medicine, and has treated athletes at the high school, college and professional levels.
