State slots revenue falls in February

HARRISBURG – Revenue from slot machine play at Pennsylvania’s 12 casinos fell nearly 4 percent in February, according to the latest figures from the state Gaming Control Board.

The PGCB said Friday gross revenue from slots fell 3.95 percent last month to $192,268,470, compared to the $200,166,274 in gross revenue that was generated in February 2016.

Locally, gross terminal revenue fell 5.81 percent at The Meadows Casino in North Strabane Township, to $17,709,149, down from $18,800,860 in February of last year.

Pittsburgh’s Rivers Casino eked out a 0.12 percent gain in February, finishing the month at $23,042.642.

Lady Luck Casino Nemacolin in Farmington saw an 18.96 percent jump to $2,611,708, compared to the $2,195,506 collected in February 2016.

PGCB said tax revenue in February was $102,145,159. The average number of slot machines in operation throughout Pennsylvania was 26,254 in February, compared to 26,415 in February a year ago.
