Pa. table games revenue falls in Feb.; Meadows up slightly
HARRISBURG – Gross revenue from gambling at table games in Pennsylvania casinos during February was down 2.8 percent from the previous year, according to figures released Thursday by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.
The PGCB said in a press release the state’s 12 casinos posted table games revenue of $66,302,623, compared to $68,187,957 in revenue produced in February 2016.
The board noted the comparison month of February 2016 occurred in a leap year resulting in an extra day of gaming play last year.
Table games revenue at The Meadows Casino in North Strabane Township, reported at $2,655,641, was up 1.08 percent from the $2,627,269 wagered in February 2016.
At Pittsburgh’s Rivers Casino, table games revenue plummeted 21.29 percent, to $4,379,663, while Lady Luck Casino Nemacolin in Farmington also fell 41.61 percent to $302,076 from the $517,343 collected in February of a year ago.
The decrease in table games revenue coupled with the earlier reported 4 percent decrease in slots revenue for February resulted in an overall gaming revenue decrease for the month of approximately 3.6 percent, according to PGCB.
Total tax revenue from table games play during February was $10,717,173, with an average of 1,229 tables in operation statewide on a daily basis.
