Personal care home opening in Elizabeth
Grandview Estates personal care home, providing specialized care to the elderly, will hold a grand opening from 2 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at 1151 Scenery Drive, Elizabeth.
The facility, which is owned by Lori Lasosky and Jessica Popp, has private and semi-private rooms, and each room is equipped with a half bath.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony and tours will begin at 2:30 p.m.
In addition to community and civic speakers will be Robb Holloway, business banking relationship manager from Huntington Bank, which provided SBA financing for the project.
Grandview Estates is located on previously vacant property that was dormant since 2007.
When up to full capacity, it will employ 37 people full time. Seven are currently on staff.
A second phase of the project will include the addition of a secure dementia unit, expected in December. Once complete, the unit will employ 12 people.
Referrals are made by hospitals, nursing facilities, health care providers or by anyone needing assistance caring for a loved one.
