State’s slots revenue declines 1.6 percent

HARRISBURG – Slot machine revenue for April declined by 1.6 percent, the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board said Tuesday.

The PGCB said in a press release that combined gross terminal revenue from slot machines at the 12 casinos in April was $205,702,752, down 1.58 percent from the April 2016 gross revenue figure of $208,999,688.

The Meadows Casino in North Strabane Township was one of only four casinos to see its gross slots revenue increase, moving up 0.57 percent from $19,255,760 last April to $19,366,050 last month.

Pittsburgh’s Rivers Casino saw its slots revenue fall 3.84 percent, from $23,921,911 a year ago to $23,004,351 in April.

Lady Luck Casino Nemacolin in Farmington also posted a slots revenue decline, moving from $2,652,423 in April of a year ago to $2,591,889 last month, a decrease of 2.28 percent.

Besides The Meadows Casino, the other three units to post slots revenue increases in April were Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem (0.80 percent); Mt. Airy Casino Resort (2.56); and Valley Forge Casino Resort (8.13 percent).

PGCB said the slots generated tax revenue in April of $109,660,262. The average number of slot machines operating in Pennsylvania Casinos ini April was 26,155, compared to 26,590 in April 2016.
