Businessman charged with advising NYC brothel
NEW YORK – A Massachusetts businessman was arrested and accused of providing startup money and financial advice to a New York City brothel.
Conspiracy charges were unveiled in Manhattan federal court as David Stasior was arrested Wednesday in Massachusetts.
He was scheduled to appear in Boston federal court later in the day. There was no immediate information on an attorney who could comment on his behalf.
Acting U.S. Attorney Joon Kim in Manhattan said Stasior provided financial advice and record-keeping services to the brothel for years and worked with its owner to promote its activities.
Authorities said the arrest stemmed from a multi-year investigation that had already led to 17 arrests, including the owners of at least 10 Manhattan brothels.
