Slight decline reported in August Pa. slot machine revenue

HARRISBURG — Slot machine revenue in August compared to August 2016 differed by just $750,000, according to a report posted Tuesday by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.
According to the report, the combined gross revenue from slot machines at the 12 casinos in August was $193,190,478 or 0.4 percent lower than the August 2016 gross revenue figure of $193,949,367.
At The Meadows Casino in North Strabane Township, slots play produced $17,851,246 in August, down 2.58 percent from the $18,323,551 collected in August of a year ago.
At Pittsburgh’s Rivers Casino, slots revenue was $22,182,804 last month, a 1.36 percent boost from the $21,884,335 wagered a year ago.
Lady Luck Casino Nemacolin in Farmington took in $2,499,893 in August slots revenue, a 6.12 percent decline from the $2,662,960 wagered in August 2017.
Tax revenue in August was $95,047,981.
According to the PGCB, the average number of slot machines operating throughout Pennsylvania was 25,814 in August 2017 compared to 26,676 in August 2016.
