HARRISBURG – A revenue increase for table games of nearly 11 percent during August was the driver of an increase for combined overall casino revenue during the month of 2.5 percent, according to figures released Monday by the state Gaming Control Board.

The PGCB report, posted on the board’s website www.gamingcontrolboard.pa.gov, shows that August table games revenue of $74,269,815 was an increase of 10.92 percent over August of last year, when revenue was $66,955,105.

The biggest percentage gainer was The Meadows Casino in North Strabane Township, which saw table games revenue soar 114.12 percent from the $1,625,299 collected in August 2016 to $3,480,125 taken in last month.

Pittsburgh’s Rivers Casino recorded a 2.36 percent gain, moving from $5,404,034 in August 2016 to $5,531,455 last month.

Lady Luck Casino Nemacolin in Farmington ended August with $401,558, a 13.96 percent gain from the $352,376 it collected in August 2016.

The PGCB said total tax revenue from table games play during August was $11,955,074 with an average of 1,258 tables in operation statewide on a daily basis.

When the statewide total of table games of $74,269,815 is combined with the earlier reported August slot machine revenue, the PGCB said total gaming revenue at the state’s 12 casinos was up more than $6.5 million, or 2.51 percent compared to August of last year.

For The Meadows, the combined revenue of table games and slots resulted in a 6.93 percent gain, from $19,948,850 in August 2016 to $21,331,372 last month.
