Gas prices dip slightly in Washington, region
Gasoline prices in Western Pennsylvania inched down 1.5 cents this week, dropping the average of a gallon of unleaded self-serve is $3.098, according to a report Monday from AAA East Central. That figure is 51 cents higher than it was a year ago, at $2.588.
Washington’s price dropped 1.1 cents to $3.082. That is about four center higher than the state average of $3.04. The average price nationally is $2.84, a two-cent decrease.
Prices are one to five cents less throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast region.
Gasoline inventory levels dropped to 63.2 million barrels, the lowest levels since May, according to the Energy Information Administration.
The average price nationally is $2.86, a one-cent decrease.
Washington’s price of $3.082 is the eight lowest among 22 Western Pennsylvania cities and towns listed by AAA. DuBois is the only area under $3 a gallon, at $2.976. Altoona ($3.030) was the second lowest. and Uniontown ($3.060). Jeannette had the highest price ($3.210).
